First Year Leadership at UVA

Today we had the first of this year’s visits from students UVA’s First Year Leadership Experience program. Seven hard working young men and women came out to the garden and absolutely just plowed their way through the beds. They were weeding, killing spiders, moving mulch, uprooting cinder blocks with their gloved hands and generally just being outstanding. Thankfully a gentle drizzle dripped occasionally or their energy would have just sizzled the soil and calcined the clay.
The beds are looking great and I don’t think that we’ve ever been in such a fine position at this point in the year. Next up, Madison House visits at 4:00 Friday and the UVA Indian Students Association arrives on Sunday afternoon.
